About us

Family Doctors Deliver was created by a group of Canadian family doctors who are passionate about pregnancy and newborn care. Our goal is to make it easier for family doctors to communicate that they “deliver” this care to their patients and local communities.

From pre-conception to pregnancy, delivery and postpartum care, family physicians care for patients and their growing families. However one in three Canadians are not aware that family doctors deliver babies. We want to change that.

We believe that maternity care delivered by family physicians offers something unique: continuity, trust, and care that extends beyond pregnancy into lifelong health.

“Deliver” reflects what we do every day: we deliver care, we deliver continuity, and yes, we deliver babies.

For resources that you can personalize to spread the word about the work that Family Doctors that Deliver do in your community, please see our resources section.
